Balasingham remembered in London

A commemoration event was held in London this week, to mark 12 years since the passing of Anton Balasingham, the chief political strategist of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE).

The commemoration event, organised by the Tamil Coordinating Committee in the UK, was held in South London, where Balasingham spent the final few years of his life.

Those gathered at the event lit candles before a garlanded photo of Balasingham, fondly remembered as ‘Bala Anna’ throughout the Tamil nation, and commemorated his immeasurable work towards the Tamil struggle.
