Tamil Genocide Remembrance Week marked in Point Pedro

Organisers of the Tamil Genocide Remembrance Week held a ceremony in Point Pedro today, where a flame was lit in memory of those who have been killed.

The event is part of a series of memorial ceremonies being held this week in the run up to May 18th, marking 8 years since the massacre of tens of thousands of Tamil civilians by Sri Lankan government forces.

As part of Tamil genocide remembrance week, vigils are being held in significant locations such as Vaddukoddai and other massacre sites across the North-East.
