Batticaloa lawyers boycott courts to protest against Jaffna shooting

Batticaloa lawyers protested and joined their colleagues across the North-East in boycotting court proceedings on Monday.

Bar associations across the Tamil homeland boycotted courts on Monday in protest over a shooting incident in which resulted in the death of a police sergeant while protecting prominent Jaffna High Court judge, Jude Ilancheliyan.

All members of the Batticaloa Bar Association boycotted their proceedings in the Magistrates Court, District Court and High Court and demonstrated outside the courts complex.
