Spain’s National Court has ordered arrest warrants for former Chinese President Jiang Zemin and four other officials on suspicion of involvement in alleged genocide in Tibet.
The Tibet Support Committee was responsible for filing the case against the former President because the country’s court legislations allowed it to prosecute alleged war crimes and genocide committed in any nation, provided victims included Spanish citizens.
The head of the committee, Alan Cantos told Voice of America, that they were seeking prosecutions in Spain because China has not ratified the Rome Statute and cannot be tried at the international criminal court.
