SriLankan Airlines to increase flights to Chennai

SriLankan Airlines announced today it will increase flights to Chennai.

In a statement, the airline said it would add a fourth daily flight to the capital of Tamil Nadu.

According to Lanka Business Online, Saminda Perera, the general manager of worldwide sales said in a statement that “Chennai is a key market for us and one of the fastest growing cities in southern India”.

“While we have always received a strong response from this market, Chennai serves as a key business hub for all multinational corporations. This daily flight will cater to growing business, corporate and leisure demand between Sri Lanka and Chennai."

He further said, the increased number of flights also reinforced their commitment to Chennai and will strengthen the “deep commercial and bilateral ties” between India and Sri Lanka.

With over 225,000 arrivals on SriLankan Airlines from Chennai to Colombo in the past year, the daily flight will appeal to both business and leisure customers, the statement further said.
