Ambassador Sison confirmed for top UN posts

The US Ambassador for Sri Lanka, Michele Sison, has been confirmed as the deputy representative of the United States to the UN and the UN Security Council, and the representative of the US at the UN General Assembly.

President Barack Obama had nominated Ambassador Sison to the post, along with several other key appointments, in July.

“These dedicated individuals bring a wealth of experience and talent to their new roles and I am proud to have them serve in this Administration. I look forward to working with them in the months and years to come,” the president said at the time.
